Overview
Health Science Program – Etowah County Career Technical Center
The Health Science Program is a year-long elective course offered through the Etowah County Career Technical Center. This program is available to all high school students enrolled in the Etowah County School System and is designed to introduce students to a wide range of professions in the healthcare industry.
Program Overview Health Science Technology provides students with a strong foundation in healthcare knowledge and skills while exploring career opportunities in nursing, medicine, physical therapy, emergency medicine, medical laboratory technology, respiratory therapy, environmental health sciences, and health information services.
What Students Gain Through engaging instruction and hands-on experiences, students develop:
- A broad understanding of healthcare systems and professional roles
- Essential skills used by healthcare providers in multiple settings
- Knowledge of the education, training, and licensure requirements for careers in health sciences
